Have you tried rebooting in Safe Mode?
Did you check Event Viewer under Administrative Tools?

While trying to uninstall Antivirus software and install another updated
version some files have become corrupted. As soon as I open Windows (XP
Home)
I get the window Run Time Error "File '53 Not Found", then Run Time Error
"File '70 Access Denied"
Have tried System Restore but the system will not restore to any point
whatsoever!! Great!
Have tried to run "regedit" but the file listings will not open and stay
on
screen so that I can make changes. Going from bad to worse!
Am getting exasperated!!
Any ideas from anyone gratefully accepted

Many Thanks
