Re: Unknown Icon on Bottom Toolbar

Dorothy,

Have you installed any new software in the last few days?

Maybe it's some sort of malware. See below.

This will create a file called Tasks.txt on your Desktop.

Open System Information
Start | Run | Type: msinfo32 | Click OK |
Click the [+] next to Software Environment |
Click on Running Tasks | Click on File at the top |
Click Export | Click The Desktop on the Places bar (on the left) |
Type Tasks in the File name box | Click Save | Close System Information |
Open Tasks.txt on your Desktop, copy all the test and paste it into a
message and post back.

Hint: hit Ctrl + A to select all of text.
Hint: hit Ctrl + C to copy all of text.
Hint: hit Ctrl + V to paste the copied text into a message.

Below. ;-)

You also want to do the following, it never hurts...

Update your antivirus software and run a full system scan.

Update whatever anti-spyware applications that you have and run a full
system scan with each one.

You might want to start in Safe Mode to run your antivirus and anti-spyware
software.

Running a full system antivirus scan or anti-spyware scan in Safe Mode can
be a good idea. Some viruses and other malware like to conceal themselves
in areas Windows protects while using them. Safe mode will prevent those
applications access and therefore unprotect the viruses or other malware
allowing for easier removal.

All of a sudden the last few days when I log in I have a new icon one
the bottom toolbar on the left side. It is hard to see what it is but
it appears to be a computer and monitor with yellow coming out of the
top sides.

I am unable to click on it to see what it is. Can anyone tell me what
it is and how to get rid of it or what to do with it? Thanks Dorothy
