For the 10 minute disconnects:
If your network does not use an authentication server (a "master" computer
set up specifically for authenticating clients), you will see a drop about
every 10 minutes. To fix: In XP's wireless config tool look into the
properties for the connection. On the Authentication page, uncheck the box
for "...IEEE 802.2x authentication..."
