Thanks Wes. That's fixed it!

Unfortunately I still can't create an Administrator account because it
says
the account already exists. The problem is I can't see the account as
there's no 'Local Users and Groups' section in Computer Management and
I can't log on because I get a message saying that I can't log on
because of
'account restrictions'. This is realy weird and even Acer are stumped
as to
why this should happen. Any ideas?

As I told you in my first answer to you:

"First of all, there is a built-in Administrator account. It is hidden
in Regular Mode in XP Home. To access it, start the computer in Safe
Mode. The default Administrator password is a blank."

So if you are trying to create an account called "Administrator" that is
why you can't - it already exists.
