it's too late, it's a done deal.. and she purchased (actually it turned out
to be xp home which was OEM for $70 not everyone can afford to buy from
other places.. so far it's not been installed, but I will keep the group
updated What do you have against EBAY?.. she chose after I advised her to
be sure that she bought from a power seller, one with between 99 and 100%
feedback.. The one she chose had sold over 7000 items and had a great
feedback score.. if the item turns out to be less than advertised, there is
recourse with Paypal.. and or Ebay.. (same difference) I had another friend
who suggested she buy from somewhere else online.. and she looked but Ebay
had the best deal.. and the other online store was unheard of, so she
didn't want to do business with them.. Thanks for the input, Rainy

Hi, I need some information. A friend would like to buy windows xp
professional.. and was searching on Ebay and this is a statement I read
about the product they are selling..and I would like to know if this is
true, the part about having to include an integral piece of hardware.. If
it is new and unopened, I would think not.. but would rather check it out
first.. thanks Rainy

This is an unused Genuine OEM copy of Microsoft Windows XP Professional
with
service pack 2. It is sealed and has not been activated with Microsoft.
Packaged with it will be a working, but sold-as-is, "integral piece of
hardware" such as a motherboard, processor, or hard drive in keeping with
Ebay and Microsoft's OEM policies.

1) NEVER, under ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, purchase XP via eBay.
2) Your friend may purchase an AUTHENTIC (guaranteed by Amazon) from
Amazon's website. It would be exactly what the eBay ad claims: that
is, "a Genuine FULL OEM copy of Microsoft Windows Professional w/Sp2."

I recently purchased one via Amazon for $146 (including shipping and
handling). And it arrived earlier than the projected delivery date.

This disc is indeed a GENUINE Microsoft product, including
edge-to-edge holograms (reddish), and a GENUINE Microsoft COA
(Certificate of Authenticity) containing GENUINE Microsoft holograms
and other security features.
