If you have a Screen Saver enabled, it might be "password protected" on
resume - go Display Properties/Screen Saver... clear On resume... dialog
box.
It should work - might be activated by Net Framework 1.1 or 2.0 if you
update recently; might be some network security setting changed by other app
as well.

Cheers Michael, I tried your workaround. and I still have the same issue.
When I put the scorusor over my ID it says I am logged on so I am thinking
there is some inetermediate setting i am missing. Any clue?

One of many ways:
Right-click in the Desktop area, pick Properties. In Disolay Properties,
open Screen Saver tab/Power/Advanced tab... clean (uncheck) Prompt for
password when computer resumes from stand by dialog box.

Howdy,
I bought a new box and it has media center xop on it. I am trying to
figure
out the pOwer mangement scheme I should be using. I have it on always
on
so
the montior stays up alright. what happens is after 10 -15 minutes if
i
come
back and hit the mosue it throws me to the logon screen, and as soon as
I
type in the password it goes back to,where it was before I tocuhed the
mouse.
is there a setting i'm missing to get rid of that extra SIGN ON?
.
