Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

I'm still trying to get back to normal after getting a computer virus. every
so often when I'm trying to run a program, I'll get a messege saying " can't
initialize database". is there a way to fix this. it won't let me re-instal
service pack 2 either
