What you say is true, and Outlook Express questions are therefore not inappropriate here. Nevertheless, most folks here are not necessarily Outlook Express experts and your chances of getting the help you need would be greater if you would post in a more specialized OE newsgroup, where the OE experts hang out.

Okay Ken...That being said I figured out the problem (and there is no way to fix it).
I have a list of messages that are mostly ng's but a few e-mails sprinkled
in between. What OE does is, when you view a message in your inbox and then
click the "next" icon in the viewing window, it goes to the next message
that is of the *same type* (ie ng versus e-mail). It will not necessarily
go to the next message in the list, only if it is going from a ng post to a
ng post, or an e-mail to an e-mail. That's the story. Take care...Pete

Perhaps you would have responses if you posted it in the proper
newsgroup? Such as Outlook Express?

Sharon,

Can you please see if you can help me with an OE problem I'm having
that no one in this group seems to care about (I got no responses
after sending it three times). You have been helpful and friendly
in the past and I was hoping that maybe you could check with your
associates, or whatever, and see if you can come up with something.

When I'm in my mail boxes, and I click the "next" and "previous"
icons, it skips over one or two messages sometimes when moving in
either direction, and it is always skips the same message(s) -
smart little bugger :-) . I haven't a clue why. I wonder if it has
something to do with the
header properties, or windows compressing my mail boxes every so
often. I have oodles of ng messages in both my "old inbox" and my
"sent items" box. Got any ideas? Thanks...Pete

Pete,
Are these newsgroup messages coming as email. The reason I ask is that
the way I have Outlook set up the newsgroup messages are separate from
my email account. Maybe one possible solution is to go to tools > accounts
>news > add and put in the news server so that all of the newsgroup messages go to their own folder.
