Were you logged in under an admin-level account at the time (so you can make
registry changes)?
If you got stuck with Windows XP Home Edition, you must reboot into Safe mode to login under the Administrator account (or any account which was included in the Administrators group). In Windows XP Pro, just logout of your current Windows session and login under the Administrator group (or any account in the Administrators group). Your normal account doesn't have admin privileges.
