****I forgot to mention that you might need to have the W98 CD handy, if the PC needs to get a driver off the CD.
1. The driver software should be a Self extracted Zip file.
2. Extract the folder and it contents, to your W98 Hard Drive.
a. Some place that you can find easily.
b. Once the folder is create, write down its location.
On the W98 PC w/ printer and XP PC on:
3. Control Panel> Printers & Faxes> Add a Printer> Run Printer Wizard> Browse for the Network Printer> Select the Printer> Printer Driver should appear>
a. If you have already installed the Printer driver and software, see if Lexmark and your model is listed> If listed> Select the model there and Press OK> Finish the installation> Run Test Page.
b. If you have not already installed the Printer driver and software, or if the installation fails, in above process> On the Printer Table> Press "Have Disk" button> Browse to the folder that you Extracted the Printer Drivers to> Select the Drivers needed> Press OK> Finish the installation> Run Test Page.

OK I deleted the printer in win98 but when I go to add it as you
instructed the printer icon disappears from the control panel printer
pane after the installation is complete.
Today I have downloaded the drivers from Lexmark for win98 and used
that during the installation.
