Boot into Safe Mode and change your resolution to something your monitor
will support. It sounds like you upped the resolution instead of
lowering it, but since you didn't give details... Try a resolution of
1024x768. To get into Safe Mode, repeatedly tap F8 as the computer is
starting up. This will get you to the right menu.
