MS Antispyware disabled connection to gmail

Tech-Archive recommends: Speed Up your PC by fixing your registry

Recently installed MS Antispyware beta version and was unable to
connect to certain sites on internet. Firefox displayed a connection
refused message and IE displayed a unable to access site message. I
have looked all over and was not able to find solution. Until this
group suggested that I go to

reset the winsock and problem solved.
