Weird problem with double clicking

Hi, all of a sudden when I double click on folders such as "My Pictures",
instead of the folder opening in the same window, a "search this folder"
window opens up. Even when I single click on (for example) "My Documents"
from the Start Menu, a "search this folder" window pops up instead of the
folder opening up. I don't understnad why this is happening all of a sudden.
I have my folder options customized to open a folder when double clicked. Any
suggestions?Thanks!
.
