Microsoft seems to have designed the web interface so as to make it as
difficult as possible for users to find their own posts, or even the
responses to those posts.

If you are going to be using the newsgroups regularly then I suggest
that you consider switch to a newsreader program instead of using the
web interface. Outlook Express is not too bad for this, although
many people prefer specialized newsreader programs such as Forte
Agent, which is what I use for most newsgroups. I also use Outlook
Express in some specialized situations.

One big advantage with a newsreader program is that you can create
special message rules which can greatly factilitate things, especially
on newsgroups that get a lot of traffic.

One basic rule that I always use, no matter which newsreader program,
is one that places a "watch thread" flag any time it encounters a
message that I have posted. That ensures that my messages and all
responses to them are automatically highlighted in the list of
messages so I can find them quickly.
