Hi,
I have a 'strong anti-virus program', and I also have 'adaware,
spybot search and destroy, hijack this, shredder '    and etc.
If you have seen this problem before, could you elaborate as to
a solution?  Can you name the 'virus'?
While I appreciate your time in posting, you havent actually said
anything or pointed toward the solution.....   and lets face it, people
only come to n/g's for solutions instead of problems.

Shot in the dark:
If the hour glass is appearing I would think something is running
in the background. Have you tried opening the task manager and watching
the processes to see if anything is consistently popping up at the 3
second interval? Make sure to sort by CPU usage.
