Re: Setting for connecting to the internet



Hi Jim . . . and thanks for your reply also. My DSL modem connects with an
Ethernet cable which is always connected/on, whether or not I'm on the
internet. The modem, by settings, is on all the time also, even when my
computer is shut off.

I checked the settings in Control Panel/Internet Options/Connections and the
box that says "never dial a connection" is checked and the LAN setting
"automatically detect settings" is also checked.
