Here's what works for me, fast and easy!
You might want to go to safe mode for this but it's not necessary.
Open Control Panel, System, Device Manager.
Look for all the devices that are part of the motherboard, such as
sound, LAN, video, etc. and delete them. If you have devices connected
to USB ports such as mouse, scanner, printers, etc. delete them. If
there's ANY device you're not sure of, delete it. Power off.
Change the MB, power back on and enter the BIOS. Do whatever needs to
be done, make sure the harddrive is recognized and then save changes
and reboot, when Windows starts it will begin finding all the hardware
that's on the new MB plus everything else you've deleted. Have all the
install disks handy and you should be OK.
