Hi there,
I am trying to help someone fix their computer of XP Home which I don't
particularly have experience with the Home edition. I am pretty sure there
are multiple viruses which I need to clean up. I am able to log into safe
mode as any user without a password since none were assigned (even
administrator). However I need to be in regular mode for many reasons.
However this is the weirdest thing, when I boot up regular and it displays
all the users it won't let me go in as any user it tells me I need to type
the password, even though there was no password. I even tried Pressing CTRL
ALT DEL to type in Administrator which isn't in the list but won't work. I
did the following. I went in to safe mode and changed the password to "sam".
As a test I logged out and back in to Safe Mode and wouldn't go in unless I
typed "sam" and it went in fine. I then rebooted in regular mode and tried
going in with "sam" and it tells me I need to type in the password.
This is so weird. Can anyone think of a way for me to get into rwegular
mode.
Thanks
Sam
