screen saver

I am a newbie with a Presario...have windows xp home
edition. I am having trouble with my screen saver. I
changed it, checked it, applied it, pressed ok, even
previewed it, but it still won't come on after the
keyborad has idled the amount of time I specified. What
am i doing wrong. I even tried restarting my computer.
