the program i used, didn't work to open the file only to find it. microsoft do an xp thumbnail reader for .db files, which would be useful but i can't seem to find out anything much else about it.

You could rename the file with the extension it was originally or use notepad or wordpard or even explorer to try and read it. www.filext.com has a list of file extensions and the programs used to open them.
