Did you install the drivers for the wireless intellimouse that is available on the CD inside the mouse cover. Install them and see the configuration for the scrolling and adjust your scrolling speed there.

In the past, I do remember a "smooth scroll" featuere in some Win O/S I have
had but I don't recall seeing it lately. If you have not already done so,
maybe you need to see what the scrolling feature is set to. It can be
adjusted from scrolling one line at a time all the way up to scrolling a
whole page at a time. Maybe if you set it to one line, it might not seem as
jumpy. Go to Start/Control Panel/Mouse and the click on the Wheel tab.
