Are you trying to run the install by booting off the CD or are you booting
to Windows first and then trying to run the install from there? If so you
might still be affected by the virus and you should go for a clean install
http://www.webtree.ca/windowsxp/clean_install.htm
However if you are booting off the CD and installing it is likely that you
are running into a hardware problem. If the install will not copy files to
the hard drive it could be due to flaky RAM which is a leading cause of
trouble with installs. Or the problem could be related to a faulty power
supply.
