File copy error "Destination Folder is a Subfolder of the Source Folder

A friend installed XP Professional on my computer. I am trying to use the file copy to CD feature of XP but when I try to copy Local Settings to the CD drive I get the error message listed in the title. Is my CD drive a subfolder of my hard drive?
