QuickTime

Maybe once every few months I run into something that demands QuickTime. If
I allow it to install, it tries to take over the machine. It's got some 25
different file types registered to it.

Every time I boot it shows up in the system tray until I manually kill it.
Is there some way to keep it from loading on every reboot unless I actually
have to use it? It's irksome to have it tying up system resources when I
don't want it in the first place. I've tried looking through all the startup
stuff in MSConfig and in the Startup folder but don't see how it's loading in
the first place. I've uninstalled it several times, but a few months later I
have to reinstall it again to use it for 5 minutes.

Thanks....
