No, registration is always optional, and never needs to be done
again.

That depends on how much you upgrade, but if it's truly "the
works," you probably will have to reactivate.

You'll be prompted to do it if you need to. If it's been over 120
days since you originally activated (you said "a while back," so
it probably is), it will activate over the internet just as it
did the first time. If fewer than 120 days, you'll be given an
800 number to call and explain what you've done. Even if you have
to do it by that voice phone call, it's quick and easy, normally
under five minutes.
