Thank you for the two references, Michael. I followed them, and
they are quite pertinent but, as you surely saw, they tell
how to correct the two MBR errors by going to the Drive
Image 2002 folder/VFD ....... I do not have Drive Image 2002
installed, and I don't think I have it at all. I had DI-5 and
last fall I bought Drive Image 7.0 ..... which does not have
a /VFD folder. However, I believe I did the uncompressing that
they refer to on the /Utility folder files in DI-7.

Now with those specific references, I can again bug PowerQuest
but it was to no avail in the past. Incidentally, one of the
XP Start>>All Programs>>Accessories>>System Tools..Disk
Cleanup leads to compressing files. I've done that a number of times.
And Defrag also compresses files. So do I have to never Disk Cleanup
or Defrag any more? Ever? Even after I get this MBR fixed (if I ever do???).

Well, again, thanks to you MVPs who have tried....and tried.....and
maybe if we all learned some more about the foibles of all the
software it might even have been worth it. The trouble is, all's
not well that ends not well. I think that continuing to find a cure
is just adding insult to injury, and worse that the injury itself.

Of course, I hate to make a new (periodic) drive image that may
have this flaw built-in, but I'm running out of alternatives.
