Without more info we can't help. Give us the history as to why you are entering this key. Did you do a format & reload? With what installation media, where are you getting this key from?

I enter the microsoft xp home product key sent to me by a reseller in the
microsoft support website, and it says it is either invalid, or in the wrong
format.
What is the correct format to enter a product key on the microsoft support
website?
12345-12345-12345-12345-12345 ?
The reseller thinks im tryiing to get a free product key, but ive tried
their stupid product key they sent me 30 times, and now i just entered it in
the microsoft support and it says it is invalid. They are threatening me
with court, but I just want to be able to use windows, and not get ripped off!
