Ron. I think he was checking boxes he didn't want to run and unchecking
boxes he wanted to run. So he was telling the computer to not do any of the
needed startup items. I could have misread it, but that was what I thought
he was doing.

The problem is not the startup items issue. The problem is the
requirement to log on as an Administrator when I already did log on as an
Administrator.
Are you trying to change a Service (on the Services tab) by using
MSCONFIG?
To change a Service use Start - Run - SERVICES.MSI and make the
changes there. Again, please ensure that you are fully aware of what
you are doing and the potential consequences before making the
changes.
