Ok sir,
well nass i did and the first time it went bananas allready just short of
ending the sfc /scannow
so i tried to do it in safe mode but that is a nono, so i went back to
normal mode and tried it again this time it went all the way and i was hoping
on a report but my screen went blue on me again and here is the error
0x0000008E (0x0000005, 0xF40E080E, 0xB9A8AA20, 0x00000000)
i hope it means something to you cause i gave up on it

Browser,
Keep it simple we are not in the army here LOL, just nass with a small (n)
fine for me, we a group/community.
Do this:
Click Start >> the click on Run and type in the box : sfc /scannow then
click OK.
You can copy and paste the command or the line to your run command prompt,
you will need your XP CD to insert it in if it prompted you to do so.
Reboot/Restart your machine and see if that helped.
If not then do this step:
Click Start >> Click On Run then type in: eventvwr and click [OK]
On the Event Viewer double click on any Error message (X) to get more
information about the cause of it and you can copy and paste in your next
message.
HTH.

You need to look in the Event Viewer for other Error messages (X) as this
can indicate a hardware and software corruption after the infection by the
virus.
Did you scan for malwares also as Viruses, try to download this tool:
http://www.safer-networking.org for Spybot S&D
Then in the Normal Mode try to Open the command Run by doing this:
Click Start >> Run and type in: sfc /scannow then click [OK] or Hit
Enter on your keyboard.
Read these links here:
A "STOP: 0x0000008E" error message occurs when you change the hardware
acceleration setting

did a full system scan in safe mode 5 times did the same with my Macfee
virus scan
and then the progy MS allways says to use lol, did 2 online scans at Macfee
website and all resulted in 0 found. But i will do the scan again as u advice
me to do. I can still run in normal mode but eachtime i try to install a
windows application whether it is an update or MP11 it gives me the error
above.

XP shuts down for no reason and restart with out problem like nothing
happened.
diasble restart and the next thing comes up 0x0...08E ( and a few others in
here ).
took up contact with MS in Belgium and was told it was a mem failliure ok
who am i to discuss that. receive a link for a progy called memtest86 V1.70,
do as told and what comes up error in 1 of my memory sticks, ok take out and
replace with new one, so u think the problem is over ya wishfull thinking
keep
getting errors like need to reinstall video ok did that, update bios did that
to and so on. Now u people are my last hope here each time i try to update it
shuts down error 0x0...8E now i'm almost surtain it is not a hardware problem
but a windows one can some pls help me getting to the point to open the
window
and yea well huh.The only way i am using my pc now is in safe mode cause
that is the only way it will work.
So assuming you cleaned all and all well and dusted, try to run this command
from the run command by typing:
sfc /scannow click [OK] and wait for it to finish you may be asked to
insert the XP CD (which I can't see happen in safe mode).
It will be handy if you include the complete error message instead of hiding
or given us a portion of it!.
You can try chkdsk.
