Other than Windows Defender, you will not see updates weekly.

Hi Jupiter Jones ...
Thanks for your reply.
I can remember how "odd" Windows XP seemed to be from using Windows 98..
I suppose many of us might feel "the grass is always greener on the other
side of the fence" ...
I imagine Vista will be providing an update and patch to its software
avereging updates and patches 2 to 3 times a week.
Interesting sites you posted.
Again, thanks for the reply.

Windows Vista is expected to be publically available in less than 2 weeks

January 30th.
The Beta is finished and the Release To Manufacturing (RTM) build is what
will be sold.
Vista like other Microsoft operating systems will not be free and there
are
several versions:

Do not upgrade simply because a new operating system is available,
upgrade
because you see some benefit for you.
Windows XP will probably be supported for several more years.
Before purchasing Vista, make sure your computer is ready:

I have seen previews on line regarding the new VISTA coming soon, and
the
website that I saw it on shows 4 or 5 different offers .
Does anyone know when it is coming out ??? is it "Beta" or standard (??
stable ??)
Will there be a charge for the vista, or will it be available to
download
??
And, again, I'm sure the step-setup will depend what you can get for
free
