Thank you nass, it worked very well. I had to alter the path a bit as it.
wouldn't accept the destination directory that you suggested. Once I did that
I was able to restore both HyperTerminal and Sound recorder.
Many thanks,
Fred

After Upgrading to MSIE 7, there was a conflict with some HP software so I
removed version 7 and went back to version 6. I then discovered that I was
missing Paint, WordPad, Calculator, HyperTerminal, Volume Control and Sound
Recorder. I reinstalled Paint, WordPad and Calculator through Control Panel
but cannot find the other 3. How can I reinstall HyperTerminal, Volume
Control and Sound Recorder?
Thanks,
Fred
Try this Get your XP CD and open the Run command and try to copy those
component/servises from the XP CD by expanding the compressed files in the
i386 to do this follow these steps:
BTW usually the path for the Accessories is:
C:\Program Files\Windows NT\Accessories.
Run >> Type in: EXPAND D:\I386\WORDPAD.EX_ %ProgramFiles%\Windows
NT\Accessories\Wordpad.exe Hit Enter.
The same with Hyper Terminal component
A;so you can and it best to copy them to the "%Windir%\System32\"
HTH.
Let us know.
