Hello Raj -
First I tried the "tweak" Line #61 - but nothing changed. That is, I
still can't locate the double-sided arrow to widen the QuickLaunch bar.
Second, right-clicked the TaskBar and went to Toolbars - but when the
menu popped up, everything is shaded and I can't click on anything. I can
see that the QuickLaunch bar is checked, but since it is shaded, I can't
activate it to uncheck it. What do you think is the problem?

Line No. 61 - Right hand site - Restore/Add Show Desktop to Quick Launch
Bar.

Meanwhile, if that doesn't help then right-click on Desktop - point to
Toolbar - uncheck Quick Launch then again Recheck Quick Launch.
