XP Pro lockups with Philips software

First time here, so don't know if I'm in the right place. I've tried to
install a Philips PSC605 sound card with Sound Agent 2 software. Once
installed, I get lockups that can only be cleared by a reset. I've tried
different PCI slots. The lockups happen later in use, but still happen.
Philips says this is a Microsoft problem, but I'm not convinced. I'm running
XP Pro.
