Check with Asus for updated driver, contact Asus tech support, check Asus
website for known issues. It sounds as though it is a driver problem and
drivers are the responsibility of the device manufacturer.

It's possible the driver is in conflict with something else on your system,
you might try looking in Event Viewer for any errors that correspond to when
you have the problem but I have a feeling, all stems from the driver. Open
Control Panel, open Administrative Tools, open Event Viewer and look for
corresponding errors, then double click the error as the information inside
may give a clue as to the source of the issue.

If you have a XP 64-bit CD, at the desktop, you might place the CD in the
drive. If it runs as 32-bit XP runs, a setup screen will appear with the
option to "Check System Compatibility." Select that option, the report it
generates may give a clue as to the source of this issue.

If none of the above helps, you should have received material with your
64-bit version of XP for appropriate newsgroups in which to seek help. You
might also check the windowsxp.hardware newsgroup.
