I loaded BT Yahoo Boradband on Saturday 11 Sep.
Later in the afternoon I received an automatic service
pack 2 update and then the following problems started.
Error 1 - An error occurred in initialising active shield
system may
be running out of resources or disk space. Please close
other apps and try restarting active shield.
Error 2. System is shutting down.
Error 2 reason message: Generic Host Process for Win32
services
Error 2 follow up message:Windows must now restart because
RPC
service terminated unexpectedly.
Installed BT Yahoo Broadband Saturday 11th September,
installation
went well and used system for 5 hours until notified that
Servicpack 2? for XP was being auto installed. As system
restarted the error messages appeared and system went into
a loop, constantly restarting and shutting down.
Tried power on/of - problem returns
Tried unticking all McAfee components in MSCONFIG area -
problem returns.
Sending this query from my laptop as I cannot use my
desktop at present
due to this fault.
Any suggestions welcomed!
Thanks,
I have .JPS of the error messages if required but I need
your e-mail address.
Gary
