locked out of profile

I had to run sytem recovery and it reset all settings to
factory, I had a password on my user profile. Windows XP
doesn't see my profile in the user accounts tab in
control panel but it shows it in C:/documents and
settings. I know my data is still ther but I can't acess
it because of password. I need help to get around
password.
