***Accidentally posted this as reply to reply first
    time... oops***

There are alot of things you can do.

If you search google for administrator password boot disk
change, words liek that you should easily find a program
that will rewrite the passwords for you.

Here is a free utility to change all NT core based
    passwords.

here's a link to the page:

    <http://home.eunet.no/%7Epnordahl/ntpasswd/>

And a link directly to the bootdisk Image:

    <http://home.eunet.no/%7Epnordahl/ntpasswd/bd040116.zip>

The app itself is very technical, don't get confused,
just press [Enter] alot and wait until it asks you for a
    new admin password.
Enter the new admin pass, press "!" , then "q", confirm
all the write actions, and reboot for changes.

***WARNING*** - This program should only be used on your
own computer and is by no means suggested for use on a
computer that you do not own.

***WARNING*** - These programs can sometimes mess up
domains due to the presence of local and network password
    differences.

Second, you could delete the SAM file. this will delete
all user accounts, including the administrator, so you
may want to back up your my documents folders on the
accts before doing it. You would do this from the
    recovery console.

In order to bypass the administrator password for the
computer in recovery console, this is what you would have
    to do.

     Boot to the Windows XP_CD
At the first screen, press Enter to set up Windows XP
    now.
Press F8 to agree to the EULA (End User License
    Agreement)
At the next screen press ESC to continue installing a
    fresh copy of
    Windows XP without repairing.
Do not delete any partitions. Have the customer use the
    arrow key to
highlight the C: Partition (NTFS) and press ENTER.
Press C to continue setup using this partition.
On the next screen, highlight the option to leave the
    current File
System intact which is the default.
On the next screen, Press ESC to choose a different
    folder
On the next screen, have the customer make the directory
    say: WINDOWS1.
(The default is: \WINDOWS Change it to: \WINDOWS1)
It will begin to copy files. At 22% and not more than 25%
    turn the
system off. Boot again to the Windows XP_CD
At the first screen press the R key for the Recovery
    Console. Ensure
that the numlock key is turned on, then when asked to
    select the Windows
installation that you want to log on to, select the
    second one
("Windows1" (2) Enter) then continue with the needed
    testing/repair as
    you would normal

then go into the recovery console on the second
installation of windows and change over to the original
after logging in and manually change to
c:\windows\system32\config and delete the SAM file.

Another thing you can try is Use winternals ERD commander
to blank or change the admin password. www.winternals.com
