Japanese keyboard layout

To whom it may concern,
I am running Windows XP Pro (Japanese version) and switched from an English keyboard to a Japanese keyboard "MS Wireless Desktop Elite". IntelliType 5.0 is of course installed, but Windows still uses the English keyboard layout although I have deleted all other languages than Japanese in Regional Settings / Languages / Details.

I have also tried to uninstall the keyboard and mouse and rebooted to let Windows recognize the keyboard. It did not change anything.

msconfig32 tells that the keyboard layout is 00000411. Not sure what this means.

Under Device Manager / keyboard / Driver / Details I find the following files listed:
C:¥WINDOWS¥System32¥Drivers¥i8042prt.sys
C:¥WINDOWS¥System32¥Drivers¥kbdclass.sys
C:¥WINDOWS¥System32¥itpcoin2.dll
C:¥WINDOWS¥System32¥kbd101.dll
C:¥WINDOWS¥System32¥kbdjpn.dll

And here is the problem as we see that Windows installed kbd101.dll instead of kbd106.dll which would be the correct driver for the Japanese keyboard.
I have no clue how to change that as I have made sure that the Regional Settings are Japanese.

I have also tried to manually update the keyboard driver, but I could not find the proper driver on my HD or Windows XP installation CD.

I did not yet look into the registry as I do not want to make changes that would probably crash my system.

Could you please let me know how to make Windows use the correct keyboard layout (kbd106.dll)?
(Which settings to alter? Which registry keys to change? Which driver to unstall?)
Thanks a lot in advance.

Andy
