0x800A0046 WINDOWS UPDATE ERROR - Sorry if I am going back to an old problem here

Hi Guys

I am afraid today is the first time I have stumbled upon this windows
update error.
A client is not the most proactive person in the world when it comes to
updating his servers and all of a sudden we get a call that 8 servers
won't update all with the error "0x800A0046"

I have gone through these groups all afternoon and tried all the
options possible, ie

I have checked the User data persist in internet explorer options.
I have checked that Administrators are not members of guests and Users.

I have made sure the account I'm using is only a member of
administrators, I
have run the SC program with the suggested papameters
I have checked that the security policy Impersinate client after
authentication, contains administrators, services and my own account.
I have restarted the system several times.


I have tried all these on different servers and in different ways but
to no avail.

A few of them it is not a worry because we upgrading them to 2k3 soon,
but a handful of Win2k's will be left so they need to be updated.

Any help would be really appreciated, like you won't believe!!!
