SUS Client Problems

We have similar problems on our network, but I've narrowed
it down to two problem patches:

Q317244 MSXML 4.0 patch
KB867801 IE6 SP1 patch

Particularly with the XML patch, I've had to re-apply it
manually to successfully install it. The event log says
that Automatic Updates fails to install it, but
unfortunately I don't have the exact message.

I think the only reason I haven't had as many problems
with the IE patch is because it's newer. This one doesn't
fail, but just isn't recognised by the Windows Update site
as being installed until I manually install it (I use this
to check machines are up to date before deployment).

Do others have the same problem? Is this a problem with
the patches or SUS?
