I've been hit with the MS04-011 patch bug causing a Dell
Optplex GX240 to hang at the log-on splash screen. Solved
it by re-booting + F8 into Safe Mode, and (eventually)
    uninstalling the patch.

Due to the procesor-hogging caused by Microsoft's bug,
this took 25.5 hours to achieve and my machine is left
    unprotected.

Noting Msoft's article 841382 I've searched the hard disk
for ipsew2k, imcide and dittape.sys files. They do not
    exist on this machine.

Please can anyone help me solve this problem, I'm feeling
nervous about making Internet connections until I can get
    the patch installed successfully.

Incidentally, a Dell Latitude laptop installed the patch
    without problem.
