I posted this problem in December of 2003 and have yet to
see a fix for this or what the problem is. I have also
had the same problem with earlier Service Packs. I tried
the Express install. Have you had a response? Does
anyone have an answer?!!!

>I have installed Windows 2000 on a new hard drive,
followed by a Zone Alarm firewall. My DSL Internet access
worked fine even after updating Internet Explorer at
Windows Update. I then installed Service Pack 4. After
rebooting Explorer no longer accessed the internet, it
would not load pages/the connection processs lagged
forever and ultimatly failed.

allows one to choose Explorer as the internet access
program, with no change in the problem. I uninstalled
Service Pack 4 and Explorer/DSL was back to normal. I
reinstalled Service Pack 4 and again Explorer failed.

Service Pack 4 will work for me? Is it really necessary
or useful??should I install SP3 instead?
