RE: Event 1004 Terminal Server Cannot issue a client license

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

The hotfix *alone* will certainly not solve your problem!

You must first buy and install TS CALs for your CE thin clients.
And then *maybe* you need a hotfix wo make it all work.

There are a couple of known problems with issueing permanent
licenses to thin client, which previously have been issued a
temporary license which now has expired (as is the case with your
thin clients).

Patrick was anticipating such a problem, that's why he already
included a link to a hotfix. But you must have the TS CALs to
start with!

Thanks for the reply Patrick. The KB article that applies in my
case is KB827355, it says to apply the hotfix but not to
purchase the TS License. That is why I was a little bit confuse
whether I need to buy the TS CAL or just apply the hotfix. I
will apply the hotfix I will let yiou know if it will fix the
problem.

I have a Citrix Metaframe 1.8 running on Windows 2000 server

CE client to connect to the Citrix Server? The client is
using Citrix ICA to connect. I get event id 1004, terminal
server cannot issue a client license. Windows 2000
professional clients connects without any problem.
