    The printing bug in SP3 was fixed about a month after the release
    of SP3. It is of course not present in SP4.
    Every SP introduces new problems. There are a number of post-SP4
    hotfixes that you may or may not need after applying SP4.
    Still, I would apply SP4 as soon as possible. The number of bugs
    fixed since SP2 is rather larger than the number of newly
    introduced bugs.
    I hope that you have been applying security hotfixes?

    If SP4 doesn't solve your problem, please repost with some more
    details on the problem:
    * anything in the EventLog?
    * does it spontaneously continue to work again after some minutes
    or do you need to kill processes or even reboot the server to
    regain control?
    * while it hangs, can you still logon to the console?
    * if you can, have you checked in Task manager if any processes
    are taking 100% of the CPU?
    * have you checked the status of the printer spooler service?
