I'm not saying AdAware is a bad idea, I just think it's a band-aid to a larger problem. If they have a corporate version that allows you to set the restrictions for all users that would be better than something that users could inadvertently choose the incorrect setting on.

The online scanner I quoted would be something that you could run on a regular basis w/o having to install a piece of software on the TS.

I realize the situation you're in and would highly recommend planning a build of your system that starts secure, instead of trying to add security after the fact, which would likely do exactly what you fear (break programs).

     Patrick,

Can not lock down the server at this time. It is a great
idea but can not happen at this time. Unfortunately this
production TS has a lot on it and locking things down
might result in downtime ( which we can not have right
now ). April is another story!

So, you think that Ad-Aware is a bad idea on a TS and
     suggest www.spywareinfo.com/xscan.php instead?

permission to create directories on the TS local hard
     drives, specifically "C:\" & "C:\Program Files" they
won't be able to install spyware, malware or other
     software.
