Did you know you could you use Argon's Client Management Services (CMS) as
your boot server for diskless or terminal server clients? Instead of
throwing out those older Pentium computers you can easily convert them to
Citrix or Windows RDP Terminal clients. Simply add a PCI network adapter
with a PXE boot ROM onboard and your legacy computers can now run more
powerful applications without having to spend a small fortune acquiring
newer, leading edge computers. The money saved can be used to upgrade your
servers adding more memory or disk storage.

Further savings can be realized by using a lightweight OS as your launching
pad to connect terminal sessions. You can use DOS or Linux to boot your
terminal clients. CMS can be used to serve up either DOS or Linux boot
images to any computer capable of performing a PXE network boot.

The boot process is as follows:

1. The terminal client initiates a PXE network boot using the onboard PXE
boot ROM.

2. The CMS PXE server sends down a DOS or Linux boot image file to the
requesting client. This boot image contains the required ICA or RDP software
required to connect the terminal server.

3. The terminal client loads the boot image into RAM, loads the ICA or RDP
client software and connects to the Citrix or Windows NT/2000/2003 Terminal
Server.

What do I need to convert my older computers into terminal clients?

· A PCI, USB v1.1, or PXE-capable PCMCIA network adapter. Argon is now
selling a Realtek 10/100 PCI network adapter with an MBA Boot Agent onboard
for only $15.99. Visit
http://www.bootroms.com/catalog/product_info.php/manufacturers_id/5/products

· An Argon Boot Agent, Lanworks/3com Boot Agent or PXE boot ROM.

What do I need on the server side?

· The Argon Client Management Services (CMS). Visit
http://www.argontechnology.com/cms to download your 15-day trial copy.

· DOS or Linux ICA/RDP boot image file. Send e-mail to
support@argontechnology.com if you need assistance building these images.
