Re: MDAC 2.8 SP1 Error

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

Hi,

Based on my research, some customers encounter the similar issue and they
solve it by performing the steps below. Please test it on your side and let
me know the result:

1)Try to install MDAC using the LOCAL ADMINISTRATOR account
2)Delete the registry key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Setup\Exception
Componens

Note: Please understand that this method is related to the operation of
registry, and may lead to the serious problems. Please ensure that you do
appropriate backup before you modify any registry key.

3)Verify if the folder C:\WINNT\INF is 'read-only'. If so, please remove
the 'read-only' option for the folder and it's subfolders.

If this issue still persists, please run process monitor tool to monitor
the process of MDAC 2.8 SP1 installation, which you can download at:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896645.aspx

When error message occurs during installation, please stop process monitor
tool and save the log file in File column and send it to me via
tfwst@xxxxxxxxxxxxx

Note:

a. Please include the following tow lines for this issue in the email body:

b. We will continue to discuss the issue here in the Newsgroup and will NOT
