Nope, W98 is not the same thing in many respects. Try here instead:
news://microsoft.public.windowsme.general or web interphase at:
http://communities2.microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups/en-us/default.aspx?dg=microsoft.public.windowsme.general&cat=en_US_f7c430e5-d792-43a7-8d48-1c3684f984d7&lang=en&cr=US
Although ME and W9x are very much alike there is too much difference
between the two for a novice user to rely on W98 information, the
biggest difference being that ME has done away with DOS. You will get
excellent answers and help on the windowsme.general group, there are a
couple of MVPs and other regulars that answer questions daily and they
know ME inside out. Just don't tell them that you intend to use Norton
products or they'll berate you! As for the question of formating the
drive just get a W98 boot disk from bootdisk.com and format the drive in
a DOS session.
