The only reason I was using REGEDT32 was to identify the key that
other tools are having trouble with. They all have trouble with the
8th one - the SOFTWARE key.
ERUNT had trouble as well. The main dialog / progress box showed that
it was
"Backing up registry to C:\WINNT\ERDNT\2-16-2008"
Current file:
software
1 of 7 files saved
*** At that point, another dialog box popped up with a warning (and
Red X) ***
Error saving file
C:\WINNT\ERDNT\2-16-2008\software !
Continue with the next file?
[ RegSaveKey: 1450 - Insufficient system resources exist

Next, I shall try optimizing the registry, although I have done that
with other tools.
And I will research the other KB articles that I have found, and will
report back when solved.
