Create an Emergency Repair Disk and select to save the registry at the same time. Can it successfully backup the registry?

Try a different registry backup utility, try ERUNT http://www.larshederer.homepage.t-online.de/erunt/ Can it sucessfully backup the registry?

Regedt32 is not a suitable tool to use to back up entire hives.

Backup program is unsuccessful when you back up a large system volume
